WWE: 10 Superstars You Won't Believe Vince McMahon Gave Contracts To

5. Ernest "The Cat" Miller

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzKyzNHX36I Somebody better call my momma, because Brodus Clay stole The Cat's gimmick! Ernest "The Cat" Miller is one of those wrestlers who could only work in one wrestling company, and that was WCW. Much like Glacier, La Parka or Stevie Ray, try real hard to imagine The Cat in ECW or the WWF during the late 90s. It just wouldn't work. Despite having questionable in-ring talents, he was given a cushy job in WCW. Amazingly, he was friends with the president of the company, Eric Bischoff, and was his son's karate instructor. What a coincidence! Yet after WCW folded in 2001, The Cat was out of a job. Luckily WWE gave him one a year later for some reason. Despite never having a good match in his previous company, he was given another shot on a national stage. After starting out as an announcer on Velocity, he made the transition into active wrestler duty, and lasted an overwhelming three matches before he was released. One of those matches was in the Royal Rumble, and another in a mini-Royal Rumble on SmackDown, which meant he didn't have to actually wrestle. All he had to do was dance and get thrown over the top rope without throwing a single punch. And that's all he did. The Cat had just a single one-on-one match which was against Tajiri. After this, McMahon must have decided he'd seen enough. Cat was then released from the company. Lucky for him, though, he appeared in the Oscar nominated film The Wrestler, where he probably had more screen time than he did in his entire WWE run.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
