1. Don't Ask What The Announcers Made
The announcers for SummerSlam 1991 were the three-man announcing team of Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Backstage interviewers for the show were Lord Alfred Hayes and Sean Mooney. None of these five are listed on the payroll sheet. This is odd when you consider every agent is listed, the four young men on the ring crew (who are all listed as making $0 for their hard-work) are listed just above the referees, and even the "local" talent is marked down (likely independent wrestlers who played the police officers) although they also made nothing.
Additional Fun Fact: In Jesse Ventura's royalty lawsuit against the WWF in 1995, The Body disclosed that he had agreed to a "$1000/week" salary for announcing, so perhaps all of the announcers were salaried as opposed to paid-per-appearance or show. Who knows what a modern-day pay sheet would look like in World Wrestling Entertainment. Hopefully the typeset is easier to read, and does not appear as if it were typed on the original Remington typewriter. But this unique look into the world of professional wrestling pay-offs may be one we never see again... until someone else decides to sue Vince McMahon and requires proof of pay-offs for co-workers. *Special thanks to WhatCulture contributor
