"Macho Man" Randy Savage is rightfully considered a legend in the history of professional wrestling, and many still believe that the WWE Hall of Fame will never be complete until he is in it. So why should there be a problem with him getting paid equally to Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior? Probably because Macho Man didn't wrestle at SummerSlam 1991: he "married" Miss Elizabeth in the ring to cap off the show. "Married" is in quotes because the pair had been legally united as husband and wife since 1984, so he was paid the same as two in-ring competitors to pretend to marry his already-real-life wife. And Miss Elizabeth, for her part, was paid the same as Sgt. Slaughter ($50,000.) The WWF must have put a lot of hope in the 1-900-ATTACHED number you could call for $1.49/minute to talk to either Savage or Elizabeth the day of their "wedding." Additional fun fact: The Savages were legally separated just one year later in the summer of 1992.
