WWE: 10 Surprising Revelations From The 1991 Summerslam Payroll Sheet

7. Crime Really Does Pay!

Mountie

The Mountie- Jacques Rougeau- was paid $3000 more than the Big Boss Man for their Jailhouse Match ($20,000 vs. $17,000.) Despite Boss Man being the bigger draw at the time, there are likely two reasons for that: Rougeau was a veteran, having wrestled for WWF as one of the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers from 1986 to 1990, so it could have simply been part of an earlier agreement; but also, the Mountie was in plenty of off-site segments throughout the show, what with him getting booked, finger-printed, and tossed in a jail-cell in-between matches and other interviews. Additional Fun Fact: Before getting finger-printed, Mountie shouted, "You want the finger? Here's the finger!" And right then and there was the first middle-finger in World Wrestling Federation history. ("Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff did technically flip-the-bird at Mr. Fuji during his match against "Magnificent" Don Muraco at WrestleMania II, however it was not as prominent as Jacques' was here.)
