WWE: 10 Surprising Revelations From The 1991 Summerslam Payroll Sheet

6. British Bulldog/The Dragon/The Texas Tornado vs. Power & Glory/Warlord: Who Made The Most?

6mantag "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith was paid $1000 more than the other participants in the opening six-man tag match. Bulldog brought $6000 back across the Atlantic, compared to $5000 each for partners Texas Tornado and The Dragon. The heel side of Warlord and Power (Hercules) and Glory (Paul Roma) also received $5000 each. All but one would be fired within two years, and he wasn't actually in the match; only manager Slick ($3200) would remain on the payroll, but even he was off of TV after his last client Kamala the Ugandan Giant left- outside of some cameo appearances on the old Primetime Wrestling panel- by late-1993. Additional Fun Facts: Paul Roma is listed as "Glory" on the sheet; Warlord is Warlord; and Hercules was called by his proper Greek name. The faces each got a shortened version of their nickname.
