WWE: 10 Talking Points Of The Ultimate Warrior's Career And Legacy

7. He Inspired Batista And Others

Warrior's late 80's and early 90's successes undoubtedly inspired the next generation of WWE superstars. Warrior leaves a legacy where some of the top WWE stars of this generation got into the business or patterned their own act on his style. The modern day product enjoys success based on things (both bad and good) learned from Warrior. Batista is one top star who admits to the influence Warrior had on the industry. Tweeting in tribute to Warrior's death, Batista states "After all these years I finally got 2 tell him that me shaking the ropes was an homage 2 him. Blessed to have had that moment. #onelife" It wasn't just the rope shake Batista borrowed from Warrior. His clothesline and slamming style of 2005 was based on the type of matches Warrior worked. Another wrestler who has taken from Warrior is John Cena. From over-the-top promos to in-ring movesets, Cena and Warrior have quite a bit in common. Cena's chiselled muscles are also something which Warrior set the standard for. Even CM Punk in the past few years has talked about Warrior as an influence. Punk was a big Warrior fan and is no doubt saddened by the news despite his continued silence about all things wrestling.
