WWE: 10 Talking Points Of The Ultimate Warrior's Career And Legacy

6. He Proved The Importance Of Look And Character

ultimate warrior wwe2k14 When you watch the recent interview with Ultimate Warrior on the 'Ultimate Collection' DVD, he repeatedly enforces the importance of character."More colours, more paint, I started upgrading my body. I became a comic book character. I got better and better and better." he says. What Warrior understood better than many talent of that time was the need to invest in character. It wasn't the wrestling got over, it was the wrestler. His over-the-top promos, face paint, ring gear and muscles all contributed to a character who was perceived as a star. His colleagues learned from him that they couldn't simply get over on great wrestling, they had to develop promo ability and work on their look. The importance of look was one of Warrior's biggest considerations. He worked better than just about anyone else in putting his time in the gym so he could impress kids the world over. Those muscles as much as anything else helped sell him as a real life superhero. While the muscular definition also leads to speculation of steroid abuse and the negative side of the industry, which could have even played a part in his death, it would be unfair to say anything at this stage of the tragic conclusion to his life. Steroids or not, Warrior put his time in at the gym to sculpt a great body, it made him a star and set the standard of what a main eventer should look like.
