7. She Wrestled In Europe & US Indies As Part Of A Tag-Team With Her Mother
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpWLkFvC4YM Prior to signing for WWE in late 2011, Paige worked several dates for independent, all-female wrestling promotions Pro-Wrestling: EVE in Europe and Shimmer in the United States in and around her two WWE try-outs. During this time, she teamed (and later feuded!) with her mother, 'Sweet' Saraya Knight, making history as one of the scarce few mother-daugher tag-teams in pro-wrestling history. Her last match she ever wrestled for an independent promotion was against her mother for Shimmer, in October 2011- a matter of days before she officially joined the FCW roster. She reportedly still sees her mum more often than the patriarchal side of her family, whom, as she says in the interview above, she only gets to now see once a year. Who knows? Perhaps, one day, we'll see Paige's mum- such a huge impact on her life and career- share the same ring, once again, with her daughter, only this time on the grandest of pro-wrestling's stages.
