WWE: 10 Ways To Address Raw Ratings Disaster

10. Innovate Creatively

Wwe Money In The Bank A major issue in audience drop off is WWE creative malaise. There was absolutely nothing on Monday's edition of Raw that offered anything new. You could easily have given the show a miss and be absolutely fine to drop in on the story further down the line. WWE has reinforced this message to the audience by offering the same angles over and over again. The company has basically got so repetitive that it has subliminally said to viewers that they don't need to watch. An example is Raw's main event from this week. John Cena and Randy Orton signing the contract for TLC. As soon as WWE announced that "main event contract signing" you could have tuned out there and then - you know exactly what is going to happen, exactly what did happen - they talked some trash, signed the contracts, one of the men went through the table. We have been there and seen it so many times now, for well over ten years. I remember this exact same angle in 2003, and it was boring then. In 2013 the creative staff need to be bringing something fresh to the audience if they are to retain the viewer interest. The irony is that it wouldn't be hard for the WWE to innovate creativity. They pay creative guys a lot of money to do this. It is as if the old timers backstage are just too scared to move away from what has worked in the past. The company must innovate new creative concepts. It doesn't even need to stray that much, do an in ring boxing style press conference as opposed to a contract signing. Anything to get away from just running through the same old same old.
