4. Triple H And Stephanie
With the Kliq elsewhere, Hunter felt isolated in the WWF dressing room. He was associated with a trouble-making group, and wasn't well liked compared to Austin and Rock. Isolated and inferior compared to Rock and Austin, a cynic might say that Triple H remedied his position by sleeping with the boss's daughter. Allegedly cheating on his girlfriend, Chyna, Hunter started a relationship with Stephanie McMahon in 2000. Vince found out shortly after, and quickly took a shine to the idea of Hunter as a McMahon. The two men had a lot in common they loved body building and had a keen eye for business. The Kliq was right back in McMahon's affections. Hunter and Vince started to talk booking ideas again, and Triple H demonstrated the repertoire of manipulation he was taught by Shawn Michaels. Suddenly Triple H was a regular main eventer. His influence grew dramatically, and his title wins and runs became more and more common. Austin would end up being marginalized, and in 2002 walked out due to creative differences with Vince. As for Rock, he had got so big that he didn't need Vince or the WWF anymore. Rock went off to Hollywood, where he has made significantly more money than Hunter has in the last ten years. Hunter picked up the spoils of being the man in the WWE... but despite his consolidation of power since marrying Stephanie, you have to laugh at the irony that Rock has closed Wrestlemania as the main event more recently than HHH has. For the record, I believe Paul 'Triple H' Levesque did genuinely fall in love with Stephanie McMahon. It's a coincidence. Regardless of this relationship, Hunter would have had a stunning career. But the conspiracy rages on. Hunter got with the bosses daughter to steal power in the WWE.
