WWE: 10 Ways Script & Reality Made Daniel Bryan The Perfect WrestleMania Story

5. He's Had The Weirdest Road To Wrestlemania Ever

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuYyjjxf7Cc Thanks to what appears to be the creative team's initiative to mess with the heads of every member of the WWE Universe, Daniel Bryan has been on the strangest title hunt ever seen. He won the title from John Cena at SummerSlam, lost it immediately, gained it back at Night of Champions, then lost it immediately again. That in itself would be a weird way to set up what would be a half-year long chase for the title, but that's just the beginning. He was effectively replaced by the Big Show on the main event scene toward the end of 2013. In this time, Bryan would start a feud with the Wyatt Family. What most thought would be a slight diversion on the way to his inevitable Royal Rumble victory turned into a full-blown storyline. Of course, that storyline only lasted about two weeks, but seeing Bryan actually join with the Wyatts for a little while was pretty jarring. The Royal Rumble came and went and Bryan was nowhere to be found. The reaction of the WWE Universe was probably exactly what they wanted out of taking Bryan out of the match. Though it was premature, most had actually given up on Bryan's Wrestlemania prospects. Luckily, Bryan has wiggled his way into a match with Triple H to earn his title shot. He may be in a good spot now, but WWE threw out everything in their arsenal to keep us guessing, and that's actually pretty incredible booking in hindsight.
