WWE: 10 Worst Intercontinental Title Matches To Watch On The WWE Network

7. Shawn Michaels © vs. Dean Douglas & Dean Douglas © vs. Razor Ramon: In Your House 4- Great White North

Results: Shawn forfeits the I-C title to Dean Douglas; Dean immediately loses the title to Razor Ramon in 11:01. Highlight: Douglas sets the record for shortest I-C Championship reign with an 11-minute reign. Lowlight: Shawn Michaels loses his third title- of four reigns- in WWF without losing it in the ring. Review: There are conflicting backstage stories about how this/these match(es) came to be, so here's what we know solely from watching the PPV: Michaels was booked to defend the Intercontinental Championship against newcomer Dean Douglas; Michaels got beat up by some Marines at a nightclub in Syracuse a few days before; rather than lose to Douglas, Michaels decided he should forfeit the title; Gorilla Monsoon decreed Douglas must immediately defend against Shawn's buddy in the Clique, Razor Ramon; Ramon squashed Douglas over the course of 11 minutes, pinning the evil Dean after an awkward suplex-reversal thingy. The crowd did pop big for Razor, but the match was disappointingly-awful; either Razor was bullying Dean, or Dean was sandbagging Razor, or both. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dx6NVwXU5N8 How it could have been better: A pinfall loss for Shawn Michaels would have done more for his babyface sympathy than a forfeit. Douglas could have used the concussion to his advantage and won a quick match with a roll-up or feet-on-the-ropes. Razor then could have won it the following night on Raw, if he really had to.
