2. Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon - WrestleMania XXVI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpWfqMVzBu0 In 1997, the infamous Montreal screwjob took place when Vince McMahon screwed Bret Hart out of retaining the WWF Championship the day before he left for WCW. Fast-forward 13 years and Bret's return to the company, and you've got all the makings of a red hot feud between the two. And for the most part, it worked. The problem came in the match itself. People were expecting a brief 2 or 3 minute beatdown by Bret, finishing with a Sharpshooter. 13 years of torment put to rest in a feel good moment for everybody. And that's what we should have got. But somebody decided this bout between a 65-year old non-wrestler and a 53-year old stroke victim should last a whole 12 minutes, scandalously causing a fantastic bout between Rey Mysterio & CM Punk to last just a miserable 6 minutes. To make matters worse, we were treated to a completely pointless swerve where Vince paid and brought out the entire Hart dynasty to witness Bret's humiliation before realising they were siding with family. Seemingly everybody got in a shot at a helpless Vince before Bret reamed down with a slow, boring, never ending barrage of chair shots - even using the chair to take a respite in the middle. It resembled torture more than a wrestling match and after the unnecessary teasing of the Sharpshooter time and time again, Bret finally brought things to a close. Not with a bang but with a tiny whimper. The saving grace for this match is surely the WWE would learn their lesson and never book something this horrible and between two broken old men again. So did they learn? No, no they didn't.
