WWE: 10 Worst WrestleMania Matches In History

10. Jake Roberts vs. Rick Martel - WrestleMania VII

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=fXkpHpAByE8 Every blindfold match that has ever been done has always been terrible. And this is no exception. Now I'm not against fun matches with ridiculous stipulations that the kids will get kicks from, but there's a time and a place for them - and WrestleMania is certainly not one of them. The only thing going for it is that the gimmick fit the feud. Martel 'accidentally' sprayed Roberts in the eye with his cologne, blinding him and giving a severe handicap. To even the odds, a blindfold match was arranged so neither man had the ability to see. Or at least that's the illusion given to the audience. The match was purely made up of stumbling around, grasping at thin air and pointing in all corners. There was virtually no action, yet the crowd was amazingly immersed into the contest - yelling directions to Roberts and tittering at the two's disarray. He even got an exuberant cheer just for finding the opponent. It's hard to believe the "WWE Universe" could ever be as vocal in this absurdity nowadays. A list of moves featured in the match: scoop slam, backbreaker and Boston crab, before a quick out-of-nothing DDT won the match. That's 4 moves in a whole 8 minutes. How they got the crowd to like this atrocity as much as they did I'll never know, but I guess that's full credit to the charisma of the men involved.
