WWE: 10 Wrestlers Who Have Suffered The Most Since WrestleMania 29

4. Dolph Ziggler

Last year at WrestleMania, Dolph Ziggler was involved in a thrown-together tag title match against Team Hell No. Daniel Bryan and Kane were a fan favorite team, but there wasn't much of a build to their showdown with Ziggler and Big E Langston. What Ziggler did have, though, was the Money in the Bank briefcase in his possesion. He'd been holding onto it for months, and had teased cashing it in at WrestleMania. Fans were waiting and hoping (due to the uninspired Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger match) that Ziggler would cash in. The crowd was really into his act, and wanted to witness something special. They had to wait one more night. On the Raw following Mania, Ziggler did cash in his Money in the Bank contract on Del Rio. The fans went crazy, and it was the biggest moment of his career. The good times didn't last long. Ever since then, it's been all downhill for The Showoff. After suffering a concussion just a couple weeks after winning gold, he lost the title, and has been kept out of the spotlight ever since. Ziggler has sunk further than he had in years, as he recently has been used as enhancement talent to make others look good. He remains a favorite for a portion of the hardcore fans, but the passion doesn't seem to be there anymore. Perhaps after WWE teased us multiple times with Ziggler as a main event player, the fans just don't want to get their hopes up again. This year, Ziggler looks to be taking on Del Rio at WrestleMania XXX. With the lousy year both men had, it's a match that is almost certain to fail in terms of crowd reaction. It's no real fault of either men, as they're both solid workers, but it's clear that WWE is more interested in the part-time players like Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker and Batista than its own everyday talent.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
