WWE: 11 Biggest Mistakes Creative Made In 2013

2. John Cena Doesn't Turn Heel At Wrestlemania 29

John Cena Wwe A controversial choice - but I think if Cena was ever going to go heel then Mania 29 was the place to do it. The storyline for a turn just made sense. Cena was being booed out of the building weekly against the popular much loved legend of the Rock, in addition to this Cena couldn't get the job done at Mania 28 ... the payoff should have been a huge heel turn at Mania 29, Cena snapping under the boos and frustration at not being able to put The Rock away. The turn would have made perfect sense, logical story telling to a change in character direction - Cena does the unthinkable to finally get his revenge on The Rock and shut his detractors up. It would have been a brave move for sure. But think of the possibilities it would have opened up, it would have been the biggest Wrestlemania moment in over a decade, reminiscent of Steve Austin's infamous turn at Wrestlemania 17. Instead WWE played it safe, the pair ran through a normal match, and Cena contested a normal spring / summer of mediocre pay per view buys. It remains a hotly debated topic, but there is no getting away from the fact that a John Cena heel turn is the ultimate unused weapon that WWE creative posses.
