WWE: 11 Stars Who Should Never Have Changed Entrance Themes
2. The Undertaker
The Undertaker is a man of few words, which is why his theme songs should remain absolutely word free, but unfortunately, this hasn't always been the case. Fans are most familiar with Taker's iconic "Funeral March" song originally performed by Chopin in 1839, and what could be more fitting? Fans absolutely loved it whenever the lights would go on and the familiar gong would echo throughout the arena, but then fans are much less familiar and tolerant of his later entrance theme "You're Gonna Pay." When Undertaker ditched the goth gear, and slapped on a bandanna, he needed a song to help him ease into this new (misguided) phase of his career, and as such, WWE experimented with the fittingly "American Badass" by Kid Rock and also "Rollin'" by Limp Bizkit. Maybe WWE got tired of handing out money for the rights to these songs, so they made their own, and it was somehow worse than Limp Bizkit, which is really saying something. "You're Gonna Pay" was a lyrical abomination. It's hard to know where to begin, but the most offending lyrics were "nice guys, it's said they always finish last, but bad asses, always kicking assholes' ass'!" Is that so? Perhaps 'Taker should have spent some time focusing his tail whupping on the character who put together that nasty tasting little ditty.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
