WWE: 11 Stars Who Should Never Have Changed Entrance Themes

9. Steve Austin

When you have one of the best entrance themes in wrestling history, it's best not to mess with it, but unfortunately it seems that Steve Austin missed that particular memo and decided to mess with his, and it just wasn't the same. In the late 90s, whenever you'd hear the sound of glass shattering, you knew some hell was about to be raised, and some attitude sprayed liberally about in the process. The iconic theme worked perfectly for Austin, and it was hard to imagine him without it. Later on, the glass still broke, but it was accompanied by singing... or more appropriately, by screaming. Heavy metal band Disturbed was enlisted to perform the song "Glass Shatters", and it really isn't much of a song at all. The entire lyrics consist of the same four lyrics over and over again:
Step up cause you're the next in line that I kill, You won't believe it, but I'm betting that you will, Step up I'll let you live with that little bit of pain, That I bring you know it's only the beginning.
After a very short while, there was a little bit of pain, to the fans ears. It just made you long for those simpler, more innocent times of Austin's career when he'd drink a beer, dish out a Stunner or two and flip off his boss without Disturbed's false threats spoiling everything.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
