WWE: 11 Stars Who Should Never Have Changed Entrance Themes

4. Billy Gunn

Some people wonder why Billy Gunn didn't ever become a singles star, and there's a good chance that his theme song had something to do with it. There was a time when WWE had big plans for Gunn, and tried to make him a main-eventer by having him feud with the likes of Triple H and The Rock. In the context of that kind of push, it would have been a little weird for Billy Gunn to keep his old New Age Outlaw theme when he left D-Generation X, but it still would have been 100 times less awkward than having "Ass Man." Just check out a small sample of the lyrics:
So many asses, so little time, only a tight one can stop me on a dime, I'm a lover, of every kind, the best surprises always sneak up from behind.
Yeah, there's really no coming back from that - even Steve Austin would have struggled to get over with that song. Gunn had been known for Mr. Ass for some time, but when the company went all in on that gimmick, he was doomed. Gunn was later repackaged, and received the theme "I've Got It All" which was horribly cheesy, but it was like one of Beethoven's masterpieces compared to "Ass Man."

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
