WWE: 12 Former TNA & WCW Stars Who Didn't Live Up To Expectations

1. Chris Harris

Chris Harris Braden Walker The former 'Wildcat' Chris Harris may have entered WWE with less reputation than Bill Goldberg, but there is no doubting that he outdid him on failing to meet expectations. As one half of TNA's most prolific tag team America's Most Wanted, Chris Harris had carved out a name for himself as a seven time Tag Team Champion. He had been briefly pushed as a singles wrestler twice by TNA, once in 2004 during his partner James Storm's injury and again upon the team splitting up in 2007. TNA were very high on his potential to be the breakout star from their biggest tag team and put him in feuds with some of their top main event stars at the respective times but he always fell shy of getting the career making victory thanks to more TNA hot-and-cold pushing. Harris began to be used sparingly, simply complaining about his treatment by TNA during backstage segments before being released. Later the same month he announced that he had been signed by the WWE who seemingly were looking to cash-in on the potential that TNA had seen but failed with. However the Harris that debuted was not the wrestler seen in his former company. He was brought to the ECW roster as part of General Manager Teddy Long's talent initiative, wrestling under the name Braden Walker, and his name wasn't the worst of it, he wore a singlet in a failed attempt to hide the fact that he had drastically piled on the pounds. He also delivered the infamous knock-knock promo that saw him respond to "Who's there?" with the answer "I'm Braden Walker and I'm going to knock your brains out." Needless to say he was released by the company a month after his debut and a mere half year after signing. Final Assessment: Whilst not having the same amount of recognition entering WWE as Bill Goldberg, Harris managed to eclipse the disappointment that fans suffered at the WWE iteration of Goldberg. Harris's major weight gain is infamous in wrestling fandom for the definition of a failure and he has become the butt of many a joke before fading away to mostly being forgotten, which is actually merciful.
