"The Snake" was so much more than just Jake Roberts' nickname. There has never been, and very well may never will be, an animal that has truly embodied his master and left such a lingering aura of mystique than Roberts' snake Damien. Though Jake would use often use snakes to unnerve his competition and play mind games, Damien will always be Jake's most memorable sidekick. Damien helped Roberts' in many wars over the years, scaring even the biggest Superstars like Andre the Giant, and though Roberts was undeniable a master of psychology, the visual image of Jake holding Damien is as unforgettable as many of his matches. Unfortunately for Damien, like many of the animals in WWE history, he met his untimely demise. Earthquake squashed the snake in 1991 and would go on to serve snake-burgers to poor Lord Alfred Hayes. Over the years, Roberts' would go on to name other snakes, such as Revelations the python in 1996, and use others against various Superstars but no replacement would ever quite match the perfect relationship between Jake and Damien. Damien was without question the most memorable animal sidekick in WWE history though he may eventually have competition with the last and final entry on this list.
