5. Evolution
Significant Members: Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton, Ric Flair. Designed primarily as a modern version of The Four Horsemen in an attempt to help elevate new talent, Evolution did precisely that for Batista and Randy Orton. Billed as The Past, The Present and The Future, Orton was the blue chipper with wrestling in his bloodline and Batista was the raw powerhouse youngster (despite not actually being that young - a role originally earmarked for Mark Jindrak). Coupled with Triple H as the crown jewel and Ric Flair in a mentorship role, Evolution took the WWE by storm. The group had a reign of dominance that lasted for a large portion of 2003 & 2004. They eventually turned on Orton in what was a gigantic miscalculation, since fans weren't ready to cheer Orton just because his former friends turned against him. Batista's split with the remainder of Evolution was handled much better, and his resulting series with Triple H made him a superstar. Here we are nearly a decade later and Evolution, sans Flair, are all back in the spotlight for WWE once more. Memorable Moments: Orton's legend killer run, the bounty on Goldberg, the Batista turn.
