WWE: 12 Wrestlers With Retirement On Their Mind

2. The Undertaker

This retirement is absolutely on the horizon, and it will absolutely hurt the company. Undertaker is one of the biggest components of what makes Wrestlemania a success. His streak storyline has eclipsed the importance of the title match on the show in recent years, his annual feud ending up being one of the biggest reasons the event draws. It would have been interesting to see just what buy rates recent Mania show would have done without Taker's presence. A safe bet is the success would be much poorer without him, so when he does leave in the future, it will devalue WWE's main show significantly. It's going to happen. Undertaker is physically unable to continue doing this. He is a year away from 50 and has serious problems in his joints, it isn't just bumping he is struggling to manage, the execution of his own work is proving an increasing issue. Taker is having to rehearse his matches nowadays because the way he worked five years ago is now impossible. Age has beaten The Deadman. A retirement this year doesn't seem realistic, Taker is unlikely to want his last match to be against Brock Lesnar. Next year is a serious possibility though, particularly if he faces John Cena as expected. That's the big match to go out on. He will be a huge loss but it is inevitable that all good things come to an end at some point. Retirement Verdict: 2015
