The concept of an Ambulance Match is simply absurd: you beat your opponent up, throw him in the back of an ambulance, and close the doors, ending the match. That's literally all there is to it, and yet there are some people who enjoy seeing this type of match. It's basically no better than a stretcher match, which also borders on ridiculous, but at least there you had the additional objective of pushing your opponent across a finish line. Once again, it's a hardcore match except there's an objective that's not pinning or making the wrestler tap out. For whatever reason, bookers thought this was what people want to see in a wrestling match. A wrestler gets thrown in an ambulance and is driven away. So what? It's not as if he was beaten to such an extent that he really had to be hospitalized. Where's the drama and passion in throwing someone inside a box and closing it shut? Any kind of match that involve shutting your opponent inside of something (including Casket Matches) in order to be declared the winner is ludicrous. As of this date, only there have only been three ambulance matches, and hopefully it's kept to a similar level in future.
