4. Jerry "The King" Lawler Plays Himself Playing Himself - Man On The Moon

The Plot: In one of the landmark storylines in professional wrestling history, anti-comic Andy Kaufman made an enemy out of Memphis hero Jerry "The King" Lawler. Kaufman, who had been wrestling women as part of his act, drew the ire of Lawler, and a match between the two was set. The unimposing Kaufman ended up in traction after a back suplex and piledriver by The King. The popularity of the storyline ended up with the two performers on Late Night With David Letterman, where Lawler smacked Kaufman out of his chair, setting off Kaufman who unleashed a string of curse words. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wpGttPSHdE It's not shown in the clip, but later in the film it is finally cleared up that Kaufman and Lawler were working together, and were friends behind the scenes, and Lawler's commitment to the kayfabe story is commendable, as he never let on that the altercation was anything but true up until this scene was filmed. In addition, Lawler did a nice job of making himself appear 20 years younger - with the identical haircut and goatee he sported during the time period: something that cannot be said about either David Letterman or Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels, both of whom decided to appear in their current look for the film.
