WWE: 15 Greatest Wrestling Documentaries Of All Time

9. Vice: The British Wrestler

thebritishwrestler Produced by Vice as part of their Rule Britannia series, The British Wrestler follows professional wrestler Graeme €œGrado€ Stevely as he attempts to get himself booked by his local promotion, Insane Championship Wrestling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zowFiAmFAXM Much like WWE€™s Zack Ryder, Grado used YouTube and social media to get himself noticed. However, he still struggles to win over promoters because of his short size and unconventional physique. €œIt really annoys me€ he says in his thick Scottish brogue, €œto see wrestlers who look like a bag of shite.€ Unfortunately, The British Wrestler suffers from Vice€™s unconventional editing style. The filmmakers also overemphasize the social and political significance of wrestling in the UK €“ particularly evident in ICW head booker Mark Dallas€™s rambling monologues which could have been more carefully managed. Nonetheless, The British Wrestler is a fascinating insight into the lost art of pro wrestling in Britain.
