WWE: 15 Memorable Staples Center Moments

3. SummerSlam 2010 - The Nexus

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7xbQ8BWi8M In the summer of 2010, WWE pulled out one of their more unpredictable storylines in the Nexus. They had introduced a new €œreality€ project known as NXT, in which WWE rookies fought to win a spot on the main roster. After winning season one of NXT, Wade Barrett won himself a spot on the Raw roster. But he didn€™t come alone. On the June 7th episode of Raw, Barrett and the rest of the rookies from NXT showed up as a unit and destroyed John Cena and the ringside area, signaling a new stable had shown up hell bent on taking over. In the coming weeks they destroyed everyone they came in contact with, until John Cena had enough. He challenged the Nexus to a 7 on 7 elimination match that would be the Summerslam 2010 main event. This would put the Nexus against a Team WWE that consisted of Cena, Edge, John Morrison, R Truth, Bret Hart, Chris Jericho and an unnamed seventh member, due to the Miz turning down the offer. After finally decided to grace team WWE with his presence, he first shock of the evening came when the Miz was ousted as the 7th member of team Raw, in favour of the returning Daniel Bryan who had been fired as part of the Nexus weeks earlier. He got straight into the thick of things, eliminating both Darren Young almost immediately. What followed was a highly entertaining half hour of back and forth eliminations. After dissension in the ranks involving Edge and Jericho, and the Miz attacking Daniel Bryan, it came down to the two leaders in Wade Barrett and John Cena. One STFU later, and Team WWE were crowned winners of the elimination match.
