7. WrestleMania 21 (2005)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXgxWJN72M8 Highlights: Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels, Money in the Bank ladder match won by Edge, Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero, Batista vs. Triple H The 21st WrestleMania took place in Los Angeles and featured some of the best promotional ads that WWE has ever done with their movie parodies. Those videos are remembered for their creativity. This show should be remember for being awesome from start to finish. Best match was Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels. It was a dream match that was built up over the course of two months starting at the Royal Rumble heading into this show. At the time, Raw vs. Smackdown matches didn't happen. That's what made it a dream. Well that, plus the fact that they're two of the best wrestlers ever. After 27 minutes of incredible action, Angle was able to make Michaels tap out in front of a crowd that loved every second of this one. Two guys at the very top of their game in a match that had a lot of hype and lived up to every bit of it with incredible performances by both guys. It's another match that I'd place in the top ten all time. The event also had the first Money in the Bank match that was won by Edge. Going in, we didn't really know what the concept was going to be like. When it was over, we absolutely loved it and wanted more of it. I think it's still the best Money in the Bank match ever. Other good matches on the show were Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio, which was the start of Eddie's heel turn and their big feud that year. It also saw Randy Orton come close to ending The Undertaker's streak, but he fell short like everybody else. Another highlight of the show was when Hulk Hogan saved Eugene from Muhammad Hassan. That was a classic moment. The two major title matches were Cena beating JBL and Batista beating Triple H. Of the two, Batista over Triple H was better although it was pretty average. The crowd was very happy to see Batista beat Hunter, though. Credit to them for telling a great story in the months leading up to it. They had better matches down the road. Thanks to the strength of the two top matches and everything else being pretty good, WrestleMania 21 is a great show.
