The Good: No Mercy boasted three really good matches, the best of which was the WCW Title match between Chris Jericho and The Rock. It was performances like these that no doubt helped to convince Vince McMahon that Y2J was the man to hold the main strap come December. Also very good was the triple threat WWE Title match between RVD, Angle and Austin. Many thought Van Dam would become a bona fide main event player after this but, sadly, it never happened. Edge and Christian's ladder match might not be to everyone's tastes but you cannot fault the effort. The Bad: What was the point in Booker T jobbing to The Undertaker in their midcard clash? Booker needed the win far more than 'Taker did but The American Badass seemed intent of stripping every Alliance member of whatever worth they might have at one point had. Did anyone actually want to see Kane and Test wrestle each other for a whole ten minutes? Nope, thought not. The Rest: The WWE really hyped up the first ever 'Lingerie Match' between Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson and even used it as the cover to their 'Best of 2001' video. In reality, it was three minutes of subpar titillation.
