WWE 2002 PPVs From Worst To Best

6. Royal Rumble

The Good: Chris Jericho and The Rock had a phenomenal WWE Title match. No, Jericho's first title reign wasn't all being Triple H's bitch and cleaning up after Stephanie's dog Lucy - he did have some great matches, too. Although not a great match, Ric Flair versus Vince McMahon was certainly entertaining. The crowd was really into the action, which always helps. And the Royal Rumble match, while not the best ever or anything, provided enough surprises and memorable moments. Although, really, was the result ever in any doubt? Triple H had to win. The Bad: Edge versus William Regal was weak. These two were clearly capable of more, but they just never clicked (at least on PPV - Regal contests that his favourite match of his was against Edge in Japan from this period). Trish Stratus versus Jazz was offered a whopping four minutes and Tazz/Spike versus The Dudley Boys five. Neither was anything special. The Rest: This show took place at the peak of the whole 'What?' phenomenon. The chants, signs and Stone Cold uttering the catchphrase were everywhere.
