14. Insurrextion

The Good: Not much to shout about at Insurrextion 2002. After a stellar Rebellion in November 2001, it was back to offering the UK fans a house show calibre card and plainly phoned-in performances. The lone highlight was the opener, a really good Intercontinental Title scrap between Eddie Guerrero and Rob Van Dam. A shade better than their Backlash encounter the previous month, this regrettably ended in a cheap DQ finish. Still, the work was good and you could see RVD and Latino Heat's chemistry improving. The Bad: Lots. The worst offenders were the supposed stars working in the main events. Steve Austin had a deathly dull match with The Big Show, while Triple H and The Undertaker completely stunk the joint out in the show-closer. These were supposed to be the guys everyone looked up to but they just looked slow, clumsy and uninspired. The Rest: It was coming back from this PPV (and mini tour) that the infamous 'Plane Ride From Hell' occurred. In a nutshell: WWE wrestlers and members of management got completely wasted on a private flight back to the states, resulting in fines, firings and lost mullets.
