WWE 2002 PPVs From Worst To Best

11. Armageddon

The Good: Booker T and Goldust winning the tag team titles in the opening fatal four way was a genuine feel-good moment. The odd couple duo had been one of the consistent highlights of WWE programming for much of the year and really deserved the win. In terms of match quality, the best bout of the evening was had by Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit, who clashed in a WWE Title No.1 contender's match. The fans didn't bite until the end, remaining silent for large portions of the contest, but you cannot fault the work. Benoit and Guerrero were artists. Shawn Michaels and Triple H's three stages of hell (street fight, cage and then ladder) match would have been good...had ten minutes been lopped off it. Some of the work was good but at almost 40 minutes it was a chore to sit through at times. The Bad: Kane versus Batista and the Women's Title match were just filler but at least they were inoffensive, which is more than can be said for the truly risible Torrie Wilson/Dawn Marie lesbian hotel room segment - it was the pits. The Rest: Edge was supposed to clash with Matt Hardy on the show...until Johnny Ace lobbied for Albert to land the gig instead. Overruled, Matt sat on the bench while WWE went forward with their misguided A-Train push.
