WWE 2002 PPVs From Worst To Best

10. WrestleMania X8

The Good: WrestleMania X8 ranks high on the list of shows that most fans would probably rebook, if they were given the chance. The general consensus is that the show was a missed opportunity. The match everyone came to see was The Rock versus Hogan. That it wasn't up to much from an actual wrestling perspective, is irrelevant: this was all about the spectacle, and Rocky and the Hulkster provided that in spades. As a WrestleMania moment, it stands the test of time. Ric Flair and The Undertaker's grudge match was decent, too. No prizes for guessing the outcome, though. Kurt Angle and Kane also had a fine encounter, but it got lost in the shuffle and forgotten about soon after (ditto William Regal vs RVD, Christian vs DDP and Edge vs Booker T). The Bad: Triple H was adamant that his and Chris Jericho's World Title match go on last, despite others (including Y2J) agreeing that nothing could follow Rock/Hogan. The upshot was that the two men had a decent, albeit predictable match that played before a largely indifferent crowd. Steve Austin treated his match against Scott Hall with the contempt it deserved. What a waste of Austin this was. The Rest: Poor old Big Show wasn't considered worthy of a place on the card - he had to watch the show from WWE New York, which must have been demoralising for him.
