WWE 2004 PPVs From Worst To Best

6. Vengeance

The Good: Vengeance 2004 is underrated. There are no out-and-out stinkers on the card and it was well-paced. Best match of the night went to Triple H versus Chris Benoit. It was dragged down a little by all the Eugene nonsense, but you cannot fault the effort. People overrated the Edge/Orton match at the time but it's also pretty damn good. Shame about Randy's ten minute chinlocks, mind. Orton's Evolution stablemate Ric Flair seemed full of life in his and Eugene's Tag Title match with La Resistance. He may not have been the athlete he once was, but when Flair was on he was so much fun to watch. Molly/Victoria, Matt Hardy/Kane and Jericho/Batista were also fine. The Bad: Like I said, nothing really terrible but some of the booking was questionable. The Rest: According to reports at the time, Edge was originally scheduled to turn heel and feud with Benoit through the summer. One plan was for him and Benoit to main event Vengeance but obviously that didn't happen.
