WWE 2004 PPVs From Worst To Best

5. SummerSlam

The Good: SummerSlam 2004 is mostly known for the bizarre reactions of the Toronto crowd, who cheered the heels and booed the babyfaces (long before smarky crowds were doing that regularly). Needless to say, WWE officials were not happy with them and threw quite a strop backstage. Still, crowd weirdness aside, SummerSlam was a good show in the ring. Randy Orton won his first World Title by defeating Chris Benoit in a worthy main event. Underneath, Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle put on a wrestling clinic and Triple H and Eugene had a match that was a lot more fun than people remember. The opening Mysterio/Kidman/London versus the Dudley Boys match was a lot of fun and a great way to kick off. The Bad: Kane versus Matt Hardy was short and poor (although Matt was suffering from a serious knee injury at the time). That whole storyline is best forgotten. John Cena versus Booker T was predictable and average. JBL versus Undertaker was so boring that the fans broke out in mass Mexican wave several times in the middle of it. The Rest: After the WWE Divas lost a game of Dodgeball to the Diva Search hopefuls, Val Venis took them to wrestler's court for it...the finish of the JBL/'Taker match was almost ruined when an idiot fan ran on the roof of JBL's limo, coming very close to falling through the gimmicked portion of it.
