WrestleMania 28 - Daniel Bryan Beaten In 18 Seconds

18 seconds. In the hands of any other wrestler, it could have turned into a punch line (and they tried to do so, but it didn't really take, FELLA). In the hands of Daniel Bryan, it turned into a call to arms, for fans to take up the Yes chant that today is a patented movement. The rage induced by this 18-second show opener cast a shadow upon the rest of the night, as fans could not get over the injustice of having Daniel Bryan lose in such a humiliating fashion. Some had the wisdom to say, "Let's wait and see." Others noted that the decision was actually brilliant, because it got everyone talking about Daniel Bryan (to Sheamus's detriment). At a Mania whose tagline was "Once In A Lifetime" for the Rock/Cena main event, I think those first 18 seconds of the night were worth the price of admission €“ amortized over these last two years while Daniel Bryan rose like a phoenix from the ashes of that theoretically-humiliating moment.
