WWE: 3 Awesome Ways To End Rey Mysterio's Career

1. Replicate Halloween Havoc 1997

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jibrD6TRAZk I know this one is ridiculous, and I have no problems with admitting that up front. However, Guererro vs Mysterio from Halloween Havoc 1997 is one of my top 5 favorite matches of all time. Therefore, the fanboy in me would love nothing more than for the WWE to find someone who can work lucha style and have him and Rey go out and replicate this match. Move for move, hold for hold. I have no problems with this, as there are many people who have gone out and replicated sequences, finishes, and in some places whole matches. I think this would be a fantastic last match for Rey. It has been 6 years as of this writing since the match took place, so only the hardest of hardcore wrestling marks would even recognize that Rey was duplicating one of his greatest matches of all time. Not to mention, there are so many WWE fans who have never been exposed to the greatness of this match, and they only know Rey from his latest WWE run. This would be a perfect way to say goodbye to Mysterio, as he could show all the newer WWE fans what they missed out on from his earlier work. This would be great for WWE because when they release the inevitable new DVD set with his old stuff on it, it will drive up sales for the DVD set because fans will be looking to see what a young Mysterio could do. The more I talk about it, the more ridiculous this idea sounds, but I have no shame in saying I wish it would go down like this, because it would be epic. I have no idea what WWE is planning for the end of Mysterio's career. Knowing them, they may not be planning anything right now, which is sad. Mysterio has had a phenomenal career, and he deserves to end his career with his head held high. I can only pray that WWE plans something great for Mysterio. He is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time, and I hope that WWE honors his career the way that it deserves to be honored: as one of the best of all time.
