WWE's 10 Biggest Money Performers In 2018
7. The New Day
A marketing campaign by US pancake conglomerate IHOP has recently led to speculation from punters as to what the company might be teasing by briefly switching the 'P' for a 'B' in their branding. Xavier Woods' Twitter gag about it being 'Booty' as part of a tie-in with The New Day's fascination with the breakfast treat was cute, but the fact that it wouldn't be a total shock pays credit to the incredible longevity of an act that has been as stale as the baked goods Big E tips on ringsiders every Tuesday night.
Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston have in recent years tapped in to something otherwise missing in the company - genuine fun. Their schtick has teased weariness multiple times and yet the trio have found a way to repurpose or reimagine that same bullsh*t into something just new enough that the group remain vital and t-shirt sales remain hot.
Pancakes follow ice cream and cereal as grocery store items slapped on merchandise by the talented triumvirate. The skill in monetising the moribund remains remarkable.
