"You know exactly who I am, don't you?"

As soon as you heard Kevin Owens utter those words to John Cena upon his WWE debut in May 2015, you knew he was bound to make an impact immediately. And that he did, laying out Cena his first night in before beating him in his premier WWE match at Elimination Chamber.

Sure, Owens lost to Cena in their next two matchups at Money in the Bank and Battleground, but that trilogy of matches were among the best bouts of the year. Moreover, his promo work combined with his memorable encounters with Machine Gun Kelly and Finn Bálor among others made him the hottest commodity of the summer both in WWE and on NXT.

By July, there were already talks of Owens facing off against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Thankfully, WWE held off on that money match for a later date, but for him to even be considered for that lucrative spot showed just how quickly he had ascended the ranks.

Owens has since reverted back to the midcard scene, but it shouldn't be much longer before he is gracing the upper-echelons ahain. This would be the time of the year to do it, after all, if last year was any indication.
