WWE's First 10 Intercontinental Champions: Where Are They Now?

8. Pedro Morales

A heroic man of the people, Puerto Rican babyface Pedro Morales became just the third Intercontinental Champion when he beat Ken Patera on 8 December 1980. Morales represented a fine Christmas present to the Latin-American people, and the title win marked the first of his two reigns with the belt. His association with the Intercontinental Title is best remembered for a feud with Don Muraco.

Following his in-ring retirement in 1987, Morales became a Spanish-speaking announcer for the WWF and (later) WCW, and was even inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame back in 1995. Since then, he has largely worked outside the industry and lived a much quieter life pursuing his hobby of gardening.

In more recent years, Pedro has sadly developed Parkinson's disease, but he is still alive aged 74. Had Morales not been honoured over 20 years ago during the Hall of Fame's infancy, then he would surely be a firm favourite for induction today.
