To those who lived through his time with the belt, the incomparable 'Macho Man' Randy Savage is one of the greatest Intercontinental Champions in WWE history. His career would go far beyond the title, but few will ever forget his epic title match against Ricky Steamboat at WrestleMania III. That one is still a classic despite happening 30 years ago.

Holding the title for 414 days after capturing it from Greg Valentine, Savage came into his own as a larger-than-life heel only tempered by the presence of his beautiful wife Miss. Elizabeth. He'd go on to become a two-time WWF Heavyweight Champion before continuing his success in WCW with four World Title reigns.

Savage had been living quietly outside the industry before his tragic death in May 2011. Suffering a heart attack at the wheel, the legend crashed his car into a tree. Years later, Randy was posthumously inducted into the 2015 WWE Hall Of Fame. His impact on wrestling will be felt forever.
