WWE: 4 Pros & 4 Cons Of Sting Joining In 2014

4. Pro - Some Fans Love Nostalgia

Wrestling fans love nostalgia. With the Royal Rumble coming up on Sunday, one of the things that most fans love is the surprise factor that comes when somebody returns to the WWE ring that we haven't seen in many years. In the past few years, we've seen it with guys like Kevin Nash, Booker T and Goldust to name a few. Whether Sting is contractually able to appear at the Royal Rumble is something we don't know. He could have a no compete clause from his TNA deal. While a Rumble surprise is a bit unrealistic, it's very possible that he could return to set up a match at WrestleMania. Would fans welcome a Sting match at WrestleMania? Most would because to a lot of us Sting meant a lot. He's a guy that was a hero to many fans due to the fact that he was a babyface for about 95% of his career. Sting's one of the biggest babyfaces in wrestling history. Just because he didn't work for WWE does not diminish what he has done. When wrestling fans think of the best of WCW they think of Sting, as they should. The same can be said about TNA although they're a much smaller company than WCW was. Despite the fact that he hasn't been in WWE, Sting's still a big name and WWE is smart enough to know that.
