WWE: 4 Reasons Total Divas Is Everything Wrong With Professional Wrestling

2. It Does Nothing To Promote The Divas Division Or The WWE

Divas Now, whatever impact this has had for the E network (I believe it has received fairly high ratings), what exactly has or will it ever do for the WWE? Think about it, hard, because of whatever short term gain might be accomplished, I don't see this being at all beneficial to the product of "sports entertainment" as a whole in the long term. For starters, the majority of people who actually watch this show are already tuned into the WWE, and the ones that are reality show fans and who do not follow wrestling aren't going to sit through 3 hours of RAW (or any other wrestling program for that matter) just for a 5-minute Diva segment. So, the argument that it will bring higher ratings ends right here. Coupled with the aforementioned fact that it is promoting "reality stars," not "Divas", it quite simply can't be what is best for business. Whereas once these female wrestlers were promoted as "strong and beautiful," they now come off thanks to this program as "petty, selfish and irritating." Yep, that is a great way to promote a wrestling division. I want my strong and beautiful ladies back please, like Molly Holly and Lita.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
