WWE: 4 Reasons Total Divas Is Everything Wrong With Professional Wrestling

1. It Demeans Women & The Legacy Of An Entire Generation

Trish Stratus This program basically takes a near-60-year legacy that once known as the Women's Championship and throws it right into the garbage, just like Madusa did in WCW back in the day. Personally, that action had less of a negative impact in my eyes then this travesty; this show basically tells everyone that it does not take skill or dedication to become a wrestler, you just need to have the will to become famous. This, I am sorry to say, is not only what is wrong with professional wrestling, but also what is wrong with humanity and the world in general. The type of stereotypical and sexist thinking that these shows propagate should have disappeared along with the more racially provocative line of "get to the back of the bus," but it hasn't. Shows like this just prove my opinion of humanity and that it is actually regressing, not evolving. I can't emphasise to you how hard it is to train to be a wrestler; it truly is an art form in every sense of the word. The wannabes are pretty much sorted out in the first day, as many of them (myself included, although I came back for more, ha) ended up puking around the back of the building, but girls like AJ Lee not only overcame the physical and mental difficulties of the game, but worked their asses off to get to where they are today. Women like AJ possess a work ethic and type of dedication which Total Divas is in direct contrast to. It simply tells all of the young girls out there that it does not take heart and soul to make it in this business, just a nice ass and the willingness to act like a fool for the camera. Is that really what is "best for business?" Considering the current regime are parents of daughters themselves, is that the example you wish to set for them? I think not.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
