WWE: 5 Awesome Feuds And 5 That Sucked

3. The Nexus vs John Cena

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOoEpFrqA5g The WWE was really on to something when the cast of the first season of NXT banded together, tired of the politics of wrestling, and destroyed Cena and the entire RAW ring, announce table, etc. It was new and exciting and different. So naturally, it wasn't meant to last. Bryan Danielson was immediately fired for making the assaults too realistic (he pretended to choke Justin Roberts with his own necktie), and not too terribly long into the feud the Nexus was split between the main tv shows, and CM Punk was made leader of the "new" Nexus. However, when compared with the recent booking of the Shield, a 3 man group who are totally running the WWE right now, we saw how terrible this feud truly was for WWE. The idea of young, fed up rookies who wanted to do things their own way should have made for compelling television, but instead became one of the worst representations of Super Cena. Yes, John Cena was booked incredibly strong in a 3 on 1 handicap match against the Shield, but against the Nexus he was booked ridiculously strong in a 6 on 1 handicap match. He routinely destroyed Nexus members, and he displayed all of the characteristics of his character which put the Internet Wrestling Community up in arms about the way he is booked for the majority of the time. To me, it was a bungling just like the bungling of the WCW Invasion in 2001. A nice dose of new talent performing a hostile takeover. It's a feud which is a surefire moneymaker when done properly, and a busted bubble whenever it is done poorly. Sadly, WWE seems to do it poorly more often than not. Still, it is only number 3 on the list because another feud beat it to its poor booking.
