5 Awesome Intercontinental Champions...
5. Rob Van Dam
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWxRo6SDbbM Rob Van Dam was arguably the breakout star to come out of the Invasion angle. He was quickly put into high-profile matches and given a run as Hardcore Champion. However, RVD was at his best gunning for the IC belt, or defending it. He had some great matches with quite possibly the best talent the WWE ever had on its roster at one time: Chris Jericho, Jeff Hardy, Brock Lesnar, Chris Benoit, including that great Ladder Match on Raw against Eddie Guerrero. While Rob Van Dam eventually went on to surprisingly win the WWE Title, before all that seemed possible, he was a great cornerstone in the IC Title picture. He seemed destined to become one of those wrestlers who are often looked back on as deserving of a world title run, but never receiving it. As mentioned, he did get that shot. Unfortunately, it didn't last long thanks to the pot use, and aside from the night he won the title from John Cena, it wasn't a memorable run. At least, not as memorable as his time as IC Champion.
