2. Trish Stratus vs. Lita
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zt0l7Jundjs In terms of longevity, this is perhaps the most memorable feud in the Divas history. Yet for a number of reasons, it is perhaps not the best, as will be shown. Trish and Lita both made their debuts in the WWF around the start of 2000, with Trish being introduced as the manager of "T&A", while Lita was initially the high-flying valet of Essa Rios, before switching allegiances to the Hardy Boys. With two intergender three-person teams, it was inevitable that the two groups would clash, leading to the first ever six person intergender match in the WWF's history. At this early stage in her career though, Stratus was weak in the ring and her work was rather sloppy, which meant that Lita was forced to cover a lot of the work and try her best to keep the fans entertained. The two would frequently come in to contact over the coming year, before having to work as a team to fight off the Invasion forces from WCW and ECW. The two worked well together and, at the conclusion of the feud, began to briefly feud once again, eventually becoming involved in a triple threat at Wrestlemania X-8 with Jazz. But before anything could happen with a further feud, Lita would break her neck and would be out of action for the next year. Upon her return, she saved Stratus from Molly Holly and Gail Kim, before the two would team up to face Chris Jericho and Christian in the first "Battle of the Sexes" match. With the two now being portrayed as friends, they again drifted apart from each other and the feud slowly began to fall flat, with Lita becoming involved in the ridiculous Kane/Matt Hardy/Snitsky feud. Trish turned heel around this time though, taunting Lita about her forced marriage and pregnancy; when Lita miscarried her baby though, this allowed her to return to in-ring action. Finally, after such a long period where they had not fought, the two women were back in battle and it is this part that is most fondly remembered. After being disqualified for excessive violence at Survivor Series, Lita would get her shot at revenge in the main event of the December 6th edition of RAW, in her home state of North Carolina. In what many regard as the best Divas match ever, despite nearly breaking her neck again after a botched suicide dive, Lita was victorious and claimed the Women's Championship. But just as soon as it seemed the feud would finally progress to new heights, Lita would injured herself in a rematch at New Year's Revolution. Though they would still butt heads, more injuries to the two meant that it would not be until they were both set to retire that they would meet again; in many ways, Trish's last match had to be against Lita, as she won and retired as Women's Champion. Had the two been able to have a prolonged feud at any point, instead of one that stop-started, this would surely have been number one on the list.
