WWE: 5 Best Divas Feuds Of All Time

3. Fabulous Moolah vs. Wendi Richter

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDcc766HzxA Another feud where real-life tension and backstage politics would ultimately lead to its conclusion, known by wrestling fans as "The Original Screwjob". Moolah had for years been the ultimate draw in women's wrestling, holding the Women's Championship for 28 years straight according to the WWF's record books. In many ways, she was the ultimate pioneer and helped lead the way for many other women to get involved in wrestling. One of those was Wendi Richter, who trained at Moolah's wrestling school, working her way up through various promotions before landing in the WWF in 1983. Almost as soon as she debuted, Richter started to steal the spotlight. With the phrase "150 pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal", she won her way in to the hearts of many. At the same time, the "Rock N' Wrestling Connection" era was just starting, with Cyndi Lauper and Lou Albano engaging in their own feud. Ultimately, the two agreed to each send one woman in to battle, with Albano selecting Moolah and Lauper sending in Richter. Richter was victorious, claiming Moolah's title and ending the legendary title reign dead. It was one of the most successful matches in the WWF's history, throwing it right in to the mainstream media. The two women would continue to fight over the title for the next couple of years, until Richter - by now a big name for the WWF, having helped spark the "Connection" - held out over contract negotiations. McMahon and Moolah seemingly formed a plan to solve the issue; Moolah, under the masked guise of "The Spider Lady" faced Richter and, thanks to a pinfall that wasn't, claimed the title from Richter. Richter ripped the mask off Moolah, then stormed out of the arena, refusing to speak to McMahon or Moolah again. It would take over twenty years before she would be involved with the WWF again. The two women were stunning wrestlers and had some wonderful matches, but it is a feud that will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
