2. Cindy Lauper
During the Rock n Wrestling Connection era, pop singer Cindy Lauper and WWE manager Captain Lou Albano formed an unlikely creative partnership. In 1983, Lauper offered Albano a cameo appearance in the music video for Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Albano returned the favour by bringing Lauper onto WWF television. This led to a scripted wrestling storyline in which Albano's chauvinism angered Lauper, eventually culminating a title match between Albanos client Fabulous Moolah and Laupers friend Wendy Richter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g45uUThofik Lauper was ringside when Richter won the Womens title from Fabulous Moolah at The Brawl to End it All, a WWF pay-per-view event broadcast live on MTV in 1984. The event had a 9.0 Nielsen rating, making it the most-watched program in the history of MTV. Laupers charisma and mainstream appeal helped usher in the birth of the Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection, which would define pro-wrestling for the remainder of the decade. WWE acknowledged Richters contribution by inducting her into the Class of 2010 so it would make sense if they did the same for Lauper.
