WWE: 5 Most Fitting Final Matches To Great Wrestling Careers

1. Shawn Michaels Loses To The Undertaker At WrestleMania 26

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jJyIor67uY One might argue that his match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 25 was better, and indeed it was. The novelty of it being their first match in a long time made it special, since by that point both men had achieved legendary status in almost separate spheres. And that first clash was a bit more innovative, perhaps because it simply was their first (and possibly last) intended meeting. Not to mention, both men being a year younger at an age when every year counts. But the build to this second match was something truly special. In accepting the Slammy Award for Match of the Year (the aforementioned bout), Shawn Michaels expressed lingering feelings of frustration, because he had lost that match. He challenged Taker to a re-match, and Taker repeatedly said no. Michaels became increasingly obsessed with procuring the re-match, losing his temper with Triple H, super-kicking a referee, and ultimately, sneaking in to the Elimination Chamber to thwart Taker from retaining his title. Now he had The Dead Man's attention. Move for move, they may not have had the same magic as their first match. But the match stipulation €“ that Michaels retire if he loses €“ gripped us all from the moment that bell rang. It was an excellent match. Even as a grown adult who feels they'll never end The Streak, I was still on the edge of my seat at home, holding out hope that this wouldn't be the last dance for HBK. And when it was, he looked almost relieved to be walking back up that aisle. "My kids are going to be sick of me in a week!" he joked to the camera, and I cried tears of joy to see one of my all-time favorite wrestlers end his career in such happy spirits.
